MY SOLO WEDDING IN SANTORINI

May 27, 2017, Santorini, Aegean island (Greece).
I am about to go down the magnificent stone stairs holding my father's arm, to participate in the wedding I have been waiting for, and preparing for a year and a half. The guests are seated. The weather is capricious. However, this ceremony is special, the groom is not here. He left the marital ship three months before, and I took the decision to marry without him, to marry myself!

MY FAVOURITE VIDEO

Happy Anniversary to me!!

Four years ago, on the 27th of May 2017, I married myself on the beautiful island of Santorini, after my fiancé broke off our engagement. It was an amazing decision that definitely changed my life.

And this year I decided to have some time alone and to celebrate myself on my own.

However, I’m going to do something very special, I’d like to renew my wedding vow in front of you.

During my wedding, I said it in French, because I’m French, so for the very first time I’m going to take my vow in English.

“To promise oneself things is the hardest of challenges, but the best is to take them up.
Today and forever, I promise myself to follow my intuition and to trust my lucky star.
I promise to continue doing nothing like everybody because everyone is unique.
I promise to always raise the bar in everything I do because the most important is not to achieve goals but the journey to accomplish them.
I promise to enjoy every moment as if it were the last, to shake up codes and to create opportunities because time is an eternal present.
A thought for all young ladies, women, spouses, mothers around the world, being a woman is our strength.
To all men and women who married themselves, loving yourself is your superpower!
Marcel Proust said: "It is better to dream your life than to live it, even if living it means dreaming it. "
And I’m going to say this quote in French now, because it’s even more beautiful:
«Il vaut mieux rêver sa vie que la vivre, encore que la vivre ce soit aussi la rêver. »
My life is a constant series of dreams and I promise to keep following this way!”

Love yourself to change the world!

Happy Anniversary to me again!!

Love & Joy,
L.
